I miss it already.

I’ve been around the Midwest and love traveling. I’ve been from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Nashville Tennessee. I’ve even traveled as far as Austin Texas, but I’ve never missed a city as much as I’m missing San Francisco.

I was only there for 3 days and 2 nights, it was just a weekend. It rained most of the trip and it was in the mid-50’s. I’m a guy that isn’t found of rain, especially if its cold rain, but this if it rains and then the reassurance of the sun comes out every 20 minutes through a break in the cloud makes the rain okay with me.

The people and their temperaments are ridiculously positive and patient. I’m from the Chicago area so tempers run thin and people are hateful (at least that’s what I think) but the contrast with the San Francisco people is obvious and great. In Chicago the ped-walk sign doesn’t mean much thanks to manner-less people, but in San Francisco the drivers actually stop and wait and they look content and understanding and not in a RUSH! People would help with a smile and even the people working in the subway (the BARY and MUNI) are cheerful.

That leads me to my final point, MASS TRANSPORTATION. I love taking the train to Chicago and the bus if it was ever on-time here, and in San Francisco mass transportation is the way to go anywhere. It will take you from the Bay area all the way to South San Francisco then across the bay to Berkley. Its inexpensive and runs constantly, also there is a “passport” option that you can purchase that covers the trolleys, Muni buses and the Muni train for a very low price. Why can we develop some system that takes us everywhere by train for cheap?

I didn’t want to leave. We had an amazing hotel, Hotel480, on Shutter that was 4 or 5 blocks from Time Square where all the mass transits are and the shopping is. Also, the food was amazing!!!! There is a Naan and Curry place on the corner of 8th street right off the Muni N outbound.

I will soon be looking for jobs in or around the Bay area.
